I thought it was associated with "chav" presumption in wearing Burberry's "street line" or similar knockoffs, and Burberry's role in courting that market.

If you want more info, I would suggest Styleforum for Burberry. There are many more fashion forward brands over there. Save Share I've seen a few suits in Syms recently that are Burberry - Made in the USA. Does anyone have any info on these suits? Are they high quality? Fully or partially canvassed? They also had a few blue blazers by Burberry - also said Made in the USA. I have a similar Burberry suit in grey glenplaid/yellow overlay in flannel. With every passing year, the thin lapels is getting more ridiculous in my eyes. The cut is not the same as it looks in the photos, and the cut in the photos are just stupid. You can do a slim fit without looking like a starving walking pair of chopsticks.

It’s time we collectively shed some light on which suit lines offer great quality, value and why – courtesy of Styleforum. I would not compare the Burberry to Suit Supply or Abboud, they are miles apart. I agree about the folly of chasing brands (although Burberry trades more in its outerwear brand than suits), but the Burberry at half price brings it down to reality and makes it a viable competitor—if it fits, and you like the cut, etc. Burberry has a double breasted puffer that reminds me of a trench. I would try on a bunch of puffers to see which styles you like. There are dressy ones, long ones, short ones, athletic ones, form fitting ones, straight cuts, nautical .
