First released in 2010, the Panerai PAM 339 Composite is one highly controversial timepiece. Some love it for its revival style dial markings, citing it as a highly collectible Panerai. Others however, have voiced concerns over the case material, citing negative user experience regarding the quality of the case.
I love that black mate finish and final color but my research showed there are some concerns regarding durability of composite as it's some kind of galvanized aluminum prone to chipping. Also if you look carefully at the word "composite", some of the letters have been slightly affected, with some more "bubbling" starting to happen above the word.
The PAM504 takes the iconic and luxurious Panerai Radiomir design but builds its case in a material that Panerai refers to as “Composite”. The composite material is ceramicized aluminum where an aluminum core is layered with ceramic.
