Some people think the combination smells a little too much like they’re pumping their car full of gas, but it seems like a “cilantro tastes like soap” situation.
Since year 2013 Fahrenheit smells heavily different than before. There is a sort of sweet, "vanilla" note. Personally I like it, but this is not the "classic" Fahrenheit anymore. The gasoline note disappeared almost completely, and, actually, it's more similar to another Fahrenheit "flanker". The next couple of weeks I've asked 4 people their opinion of it, and they each said it was 'spicy', and I can't figure out what they're referring to because all I smell is leather and flowers (and that faint 'gasoline' note, which I read is really honeysuckle). In summary, Dior Fahrenheit smells like a luxury interpretation of gasoline, with several nuances providing depth and richness. As it dries, the gasoline subsides, where soapy green and leathery undertones arise. While I have no idea what earlier versions of Fahrenheit smell like (this fragrance wasn't part of my childhood in the '90s and early 2000s), the modern batches are petrol and leather only toned down with hints of floral, woody and citrus accords supporting it.

The sensual composition features violet leaf, suede, licorice, citrusy mandarin, and caraway enriched with bourbon vanilla. The base notes contain leather and vetiver, giving off those strong, earthy smells. Most noticeable is the leather scent — some describe a petrol or gas scent. Don't be mistaken — even though violet is the main accord in this Fahrenheit cologne, it is not a floral fragrance. It is very masculine. The middle and dry notes really make Fahrenheit transform into a beautiful scent. Every time I wear this fragrance, I appreciate it more and more and understand why it has stood the test of time. I still can’t believe this Fahrenheit was created in 1988.
