On Friday evening a fascinating story broke via Rolex Forums, embroiling a prominent Australian watch personality, Chris Essery – owner of Horology House and founder of the Australian Watch Buy, Swap & Sell Facebook group. Essery (CE) has been accused, by a handful of parties, of intentionally selling a fake Rolex Daytona and scamming many . You can do a quick search and find all the evidence, it doesn’t look good, it has all the hallmarks of a scammer and even some stooping as to leverage the natural disasters of the Australia bush fires and New Zealand volcanic eruption (complete with fake photos of “his parents house”) to buy him more time. He sold a Rolex to a guy and after delaying months for a watch that should have been in the posts hands the next day, it turned out to be a fake.
