There is no wrong choice, however, the Sub is the original and stayed true to it's looks/function for the longest time of any model. I put my name down for a new 12xxxx Sub and said I had no preference between Date or no-date, got the call for a 126610. It’s not my first Rolex with a date but it is my first Sub with a date. Prior to, most people had two realistic options - Explorer and sub (one look and model) as the Daytona was relatively expensive and unavailable. I think people are now more accepting of no-date models.
